PAKISTAN SQUAD FOR 5TH ODI
The National Selection Committee headed by Mr. Salahuddin Ahmed has announced the following players for the 5th ODI to be played against Zimbabwe at Sheikhupura.The names are as follows: Shoaib Malik, Nasir Jamshed, Khalid Latif, Khurram Manzoor,Younis Khan,Misbah-ul-Haq, Naumanullah, Fawad Alam, Rizwan Ahmed, Sarfraz Ahmad, Sohail Tanveer, Junaid Zia, Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, Abdur Rauf
PAKISTAN TEAM
The Selection Committee headed by Mr. Salahuddin Ahmed has announced following players for the first 2-ODIs to be played against Zimbabwe starting from 21st January 2008. The names are as follows: Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Yousaf, Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Salman Butt, Nasir Jamshed, Rao Iftikhar, Sohail Tanvir, Samiullah Niazi, Kamran Akmal Wicket Keeper, Sarfraz Ahmad Wicket Keeper, Fawad Alam, Kamran Hussain, Yasir Arafat. Shahid Afridi has been left out of the ODI following a poor series against India.
QUALIFIER MOVED TO SOUTH AFRICA
The ICC today announced that the Women’s World Cup Qualifier event, scheduled to be staged in Lahore, Pakistan from 18-24 February 2008, will now take place in South Africa instead. The decision was arrived at following independent security reports and extensive discussions by ICC management and the ICC Women’s Committee. The event will be staged in conjunction with Cricket South Africa and the Boland Cricket Union in the Stellenbosch district of the Western Cape over the same dates.
PAKISTAN UNDER 19 SQUAD
Junior Selection Committee headed by Col Naushad has announced 21 probables for the Tri-angular Series (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England) in Sri Lanka starting from January 18, 2008 and for World Cup in Malaysia, Feb-Mar. Shan Masood, Umer Ameen, Ahmad Shahzad, Usman Slahuddin, Umer Akmal, Hamza Zaheer, Muhammad Yaseen, Fawad Hussain, Immad Waseem, Jibran Khan, Ali Asad, Umair Mir, Muhammad Rameez, Adil Raza, Junaid Khan, Junaid Nadir, Abdul Ameer, Azhar Attari , Shahzeb Ahmad, Kamran Hussain and Ahsan Mirza
INDIA AND PAKISTAN FINE FOR SLOW OVER RATE
The India and Pakistan teams have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during the second ODI at Mohali on Thursday. ICC match referee Roshan Mahanama of the Emirates Elite Panel imposed the fines after both the teams were ruled to be one over short of their targets when time allowances were taken into consideration.
